Is WWE Diva Going To Jail For Using Gun?

According to NJ, WWE Superstar Sonya Deville, whose real name is Daria R. Berenato, will not face a prison sentence over a gun charge related to an incident at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City earlier this year, according to authorities. Deville was arrested in February after a handgun was found by a valet worker, leading to a charge of second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun without a permit.

In May, Deville entered New Jersey’s pre-trial intervention program (PTI), which she successfully completed in November, resolving the case without a prison sentence. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office noted that this resolution was based on a 2014 directive by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, altering how gun cases are prosecuted under the Graves Act.

Sonya Deville, aged 30, is not only a professional wrestler but also a mixed martial artist signed with the WWE. A New Jersey native who graduated from Seneca High School in Tabernacle, Burlington County, Deville has experienced recent setbacks, including suffering a torn ACL during a wrestling event, as reported by TMZ Sports in August.

As of now, there has been no comment from a WWE spokesperson regarding this legal development. The details of the case were heard by Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury, but additional information about the case has not been disclosed by the prosecutor’s office.
