Melania and Donald Trump were just spotted with Vivek Ramaswamy.
Gina Carano, the former star of “The Mandalorian,” recently appeared on Fox News to discuss her lawsuit against Disney following her firing for controversial remarks. Carano had likened the treatment of Trump supporters to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust, sparking widespread backlash and ultimately leading to her dismissal from the show.
During her interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Carano characterized her termination as an act of bullying and emphasized that it could happen to anyone. She expressed surprise at being targeted despite her reputation as a non-controversial figure on set. Carano suggested that her outspokenness and refusal to compromise her values contributed to her dismissal.
Reflecting on the experience, Carano emphasized the importance of standing up for oneself and not compromising one’s principles, especially in the face of adversity. She underscored the need to set boundaries and resist pressure to conform, stressing that if it could happen to her, it could happen to anyone.
Carano also expressed gratitude for the support she received, particularly from Elon Musk and others championing her cause. She acknowledged the emotional impact of her stance, citing instances of fans expressing gratitude for her courage.
In conclusion, Carano urged others to stand firm in their beliefs and not succumb to societal pressure, emphasizing the importance of integrity and self-respect in navigating challenging circumstances.
JESSE WATTERS: Gina, why do you think, after all of the things said and done by actors and actresses of all political stripes, you were specifically targeted?
CARANO: That’s a good question.
I think maybe because I’m a bit unassuming, I am easy to work with, and I think, sometimes — if you asked anybody on that set, they would say, I was the most non-controversial person. But I think, like we have seen all over America, a lot of us are getting sick and tired.
And so I think that I was a bit unassuming in standing up. And I think that’s why I was targeted.
WATTERS: What have you learned from all of this? I mean, you were at one of the biggest perches in the entertainment field. And now, next day, you were canceled.
CARANO: What I have learned is that, if this can happen to me, this can happen to anyone!
I am easy to work with, and I am passionate about what we do. I am always excited to be on set. I even worked with them as much as I possibly could to resolve any issues that they had. But, eventually, you have a line. And when that line gets crossed, you just have to say, enough. Enough is enough.
And if I look back on what I — if I would have caved and I would have done something that disrespected myself, then I wouldn’t be doing any favors to the next generation, to my nieces, to your children. And I felt like, since I didn’t have any children, I was a person that could stand up and say some things.
And the things that I said were so gentle. They weren’t aggressive. They were never with ill intent. They were never malicious. And that’s how I know, because I was so conscious that, if this can happen to me, this will happen to you. And if we just pass this along to the next generation, it’s just going to get worse and worse.
WATTERS: Well, it’s good advice, because people, young Americans come up to me all the time, and they say, Jesse, I love what you say. I believe the same thing. But at my job or my college, I can’t really say that, because I will get in trouble. And what do I do?
It’s very hard to navigate this crazy world that we live in.
CARANO: Yes. I have…
WATTERS: So, I guess your story is very inspiring to a lot of people, Gina.
CARANO: I have people at these fan expos that I absolutely love. And I have them coming up in tears, and mass amounts of people come up in tears and just thank me for taking a stand, thank me for saying the things that I said.
And that has made it all worth it. No matter what happens, that has made it all worth it. And I really applaud Elon Musk and X for championing me in this lawsuit. And I appreciate all your love and support out there. And I hope I make you proud.
WATTERS: Oh, well, we feel that. Thanks, Gina. And good luck on the litigation. And keep us posted.
CARANO: Thank you.
