Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt has called on President Joe Biden to resign in an op-ed published by Fox News. Hewitt expressed concerns about Biden’s physical and mental health, describing him as infirm and impaired. He argued that Biden’s reported use of expletives in private conversations and his inability to remember basic facts make him a national security threat.
Hewitt acknowledged the sympathy for the aging and infirm but argued that the presidency should be held to a different standard. While citing examples of older individuals holding public office, he emphasized that the president must have the capacity to decide and lead, a capacity he believes Biden no longer possesses.
He criticized Biden for not addressing the country about the military campaign against Yemen and highlighted the president’s recent public gaffes. Hewitt referenced a report detailing memory lapses from Biden during a special counsel interview. Concluding his op-ed, Hewitt argued that the U.S. is in a moment of crisis and needs new and decisive leadership, urging Biden to resign before another crisis occurs.
It’s important to note that opinions on Biden’s mental and physical health can vary widely, and the call for his resignation reflects one perspective within conservative circles.
“We have such a bad government now, with a crisis on the southern border, a failed splurge of trillions on Bidenomics which unleashed inflation that torments everyone who buys gas and groceries, and of course Americans under attack across the Middle East by Iran’s fanatics, fanatics who do not fear Biden,” Hewitt writes, concluding:
Israel has now begun to glimpse what an erratic and infirm president means and it’s a warning to us as well. Please, whomever the president listens to, speak candidly to him. It is time for him to go, before another crisis arrives, one which he is simply not capable of handling.
