Former Democratic National Committee Chair Howard Dean recently declared this week that President Joe Biden would “beat the daylights” out of Donald Trump in a push-up contest via Mediaite.
The former Vermont governor recently joined MSNBC’s Ari Melber on Tuesday. It has been noted that He discussed the Michigan primary results and Nikki Haley’s longshot chance at getting the GOP presidential nomination after losing multiple states, including her own, South Carolina.
Dean argued Trump essentially has the nomination “fixed,” and Haley’s only option is to present herself as an “alternative” in case Trump has unforeseen circumstances, like a health problem. This is where Dean decided to compare the health of the former and current presidents.
“Haley’s hope has to be that she can present herself well as an alternative to Trump so at the convention accept her should Trump have a health problem, which he certainly as likely as Biden to have if not more, I mean — I’ll bet you anything that Joe Biden could beat the daylights out of Trump in a push-up contest, for example, and Trump knows it too. Although if it was a cheeseburger eating contest, it might turn out differently,” Dean said.
It has been suggested that a push-up contest between the two main presidential candidates would be an unusual spectacle for voters, but a third-party candidate has attempted to make his physical fitness a key aspect of his campaign. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., aged 70, has shared several videos on social media of him exercising, including performing push-ups.
While it is unlikely that Donald Trump would win a push-up contest, there is also doubt that he will withdraw from the nomination race for any reason, including the increasing number of legal issues he faces. This was acknowledged by Howard Dean.
