Production on the fourth installment of the “Bad Boys” franchise, tentatively titled “Bad Boys 4,” has resumed in Miami, Florida, after a seven-month hiatus caused by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Vanessa Hudgens, who plays the role of Kelly, a weapons expert of AMMO, was spotted on set for the first time since the cast and crew regrouped to finish the shoot. Co-stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence greeted Hudgens with hugs after finishing an outdoor scene.
The film, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, is the direct sequel to “Bad Boys For Life” (2020) and the fourth installment in the successful franchise. Alongside Smith, Lawrence, and Hudgens, other returning cast members include Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, DJ Khaled, and Jacob Scipio. Newcomers to the cast include Tasha Smith, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Rhea Seehorn, and Joyner Lucas.
The shoot for the film began in April 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, and Miami, Florida. However, filming was suspended in July due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which concluded on November 9, 2023. The franchise has been a significant box office success, with “Bad Boys For Life” earning $426.5 million worldwide. “Bad Boys 4” is scheduled to premiere in the U.S. on June 7, 2024.
