The Biden administration recently released a pre-recorded video featuring Joe Biden, attempting to present it as a live event. Meanwhile, the 81-year-old president spent the weekend in Delaware for another vacation.
Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi joined Biden for what was termed a “National Organizing Call with President Joe Biden, President Barack Obama, & Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi.”
The event had to be pre-recorded because Biden struggled with multiple takes to deliver his remarks, necessitating awkward splicing of the video due to his difficulty reading the teleprompter.
During the event, Biden credited Pelosi’s efforts in passing the Affordable Care Act, stating, “We’d never have gotten the Affordable Care Act done. Period.” However, the video showed signs of manipulation, with a sudden change in volume and Biden appearing to slur his words.
Biden also repeated the debunked claim that “Trump told us to inject ourselves with bleach.” This assertion is blatantly false. In an April 2020 press briefing, Trump discussed the possibility of using ultraviolet light or disinfectants to combat the virus, but he never suggested injecting bleach. Rather, he was exploring options such as UV light therapy and disinfectants for cleaning surfaces and potentially treating the virus internally.
Trump’s remarks were taken out of context and distorted, leading to widespread misinformation. Despite this, bio-tech firm Aytu BioScience announced a partnership with the FDA and Cedars-Sinai on UV light treatment to combat the virus in intubated patients, demonstrating that the idea was not as far-fetched as portrayed.
