The Rock Stole ‘Final Boss’ From Wrestler?

The Rock has adopted a new nickname, “The Final Boss,” thanks to Brian Gewirtz, although it’s not entirely original as Samoa Joe has previously used it. AEW is actively promoting Samoa Joe’s “Final Boss” t-shirt despite The Rock adopting the name, creating a bit of a clash over the nickname.

While neither The Rock nor Samoa Joe currently own the trademark for “The Final Boss” within the pro wrestling domain, AEW is pushing Joe’s shirt to reinforce his claim to the nickname.

As of now, there are existing trademarks for “The Final Boss,” but they aren’t associated with AEW, WWE, or The Rock. The lack of trademark ownership leaves room for both The Rock and Samoa Joe to use the nickname, though it’s unclear who will secure it in the future.

In the WWE realm, The Rock continues to refer to himself as “The Final Boss” as he gears up for his WrestleMania 40 tag team match alongside Roman Reigns against Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. This feud escalated with bloodshed on the March 25 episode of RAW, further solidifying The Rock’s use of the nickname.

As intellectual property holds significant importance in pro wrestling, it remains to be seen if anyone will attempt to secure the trademark for “The Final Boss” amidst the ongoing battle over its usage.
