WWE Cancel McMahon Family Member Return?

Stephanie McMahon created a buzz with her potential future with WWE after she made a surprise appearance at WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday and Triple H said she was back with the company, along with reports, but this won’t be happening.

The former WWE Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon returned at ‘the Show of Shows’ to hype up the crowd and delivered an impressive promo. She stated that she had the privilege of being at every WrestleMania and that this year’s event was the first-ever of the Paul Levesque era. She then welcomed everyone to Mania.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select  reported that the Stephanie segment was kept very quiet internally and was listed as a Triple H promo on the run sheets. However, once she was backstage, she was welcomed by many as she has had a long reputation for being liked by those in the company.

Now, Pwinsider has reported that McMahon’s appearance does not necessarily mean an official return to the company in any capacity. But, with her appearance, she showed support for the company’s new era under her husband’s leadership.

It has been noted that it was viewed as McMahon putting her stamp of approval on WWE’s direction, rather than the beginning of her return for storylines or behind-the-scenes duties.

This marked also her first official appearance since she departed the company in January 2023. Stephanie McMahon had left WWE in early 2023 and it was following her father former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon forced his way back onto the company’s board of directors.

Steph had previously announced a hiatus in 2022 only to return just a few short weeks later to take over as WWE Chairwoman and co-CEO following Vince McMahon’s short-lived retirement from the company in July of that year.
