As the former President Donald Trump goes into the trial, the judge is going to allow the DA’s office to use National Enquirer stories that were negative of Trump’s opponents as evidence, although he agreed it has nothing to do with the charges. The Judge also allowed the prosecution to read the Transcript of Trump’s “grab em by the pu***” tape aloud in the courtroom.
Judge Juan Merchan has said that he will allow the testimony of Karen McDougal. Still, he said the jury doesn’t need to hear that Donald Trump continued his affair with McDougal while his wife Melania Trump was pregnant and after she gave birth.
“At this moment, the prejudicial value of that exceeds the probative value,” Merchan said.
It has been noted that the judge allowed a lot of this testimony when he made his decisions on “motions in limine” but he said how far they could go would be determined later. Prosecutors are now asking the judge to say how far they can go into the details.
Well, McDougal is a model and actress who has said that she had a monthslong affair with Trump in 2006 and was paid $150,000 to keep quiet about it by the National Enquirer. Trump has denied the affair. Prosecutors may use the payoffs as evidence that the schemes were aimed at protecting Trump’s electoral chances.
