Jimmy Kimmel took on Donald Trump’s all-caps rants on Truth Social and Kanye West’s new venture into adult films on Wednesday’s late-night show. Kimmel joked about Trump’s persistent use of all-caps on his posts, quipping that he “keeps his caps lock tighter than the door to Melania’s bedroom.”
The host mentioned Trump’s repeated complaints about his gag order, with posts filled with “WITCH HUNT” and “ELECTION INTERFERENCE.” Kimmel noted that Trump has been making a spectacle of the gag order as if he were on trial for it instead of for paying off a porn star.
Kimmel also took a jab at Kanye West’s plans to start an adult film studio with Stormy Daniels’s ex-husband, Mike Moz, saying that if someone told him this five years ago, he’d easily believe it. On the political front, Kimmel joked about the Senate’s recent vote to potentially ban TikTok or force a sale of the app by its parent company, ByteDance. He humorously remarked that without TikTok, people would lose the platform to watch “videos of wealthy teenagers crying in their cars.”
Kimmel also joked about President Biden’s decision to let elementary schools keep serving chocolate milk, suggesting that if Biden banned TikTok and chocolate milk simultaneously, it would lead to a “middle school January 6.”
On “The Daily Show,” guest hosts Jordan Klepper and Ronny Chieng discussed the Senate’s approval of a $95 billion military aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. Klepper highlighted the six-month delay in the House, as rightwing Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz threatened to remove House speaker Mike Johnson if he supported Ukraine. The hosts humorously criticized the idea of praising Johnson’s “courage” for eventually passing the bill, with Klepper joking that some Ukrainian cities fell while Johnson decided whether to be courageous. Chieng joined in, sarcastically saluting Johnson but noted he might need six months to work up the courage to do it.
