After weeks of speculation surrounding the status of their relationship, Ben Affleck, 51, took a subtle approach to divert attention from his marital status. While out in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 22, the actor made a deliberate effort to conceal his left hand, which had previously been adorned with his wedding ring on and off.
Pictured picking up his son Samuel, 12, from school, Affleck draped a blue sweatshirt across his shoulder, effectively concealing his left arm and hand from view. Despite the scrutiny, the Oscar winner maintained a smile for the cameras before departing the scene in his car.
Just a day earlier, Affleck was seen leaving Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, where he was spotted wearing his wedding ring during an outing with friends. However, on May 17, the same day it was confirmed that he and Jennifer Lopez, 54, are no longer residing together, Affleck was without his band. According to a source, Affleck moved out of their California mansion “several weeks ago.”
While Affleck navigates public appearances solo, Lopez has been occupied with promoting her latest film, Atlas, and has been drawing attention to her own marital status.
At the Los Angeles premiere on May 20, where Affleck was notably absent, Lopez posed on the red carpet without her green diamond engagement ring. Although she wore her platinum wedding band, Lopez’s striking engagement ring was noticeably absent from her ensemble. Instead, she accessorized with dangling earrings featuring a pistachio-colored gem and a coordinating collar necklace.
Lopez continued to forgo her ring at the Atlas premiere in Mexico City on May 21, marking the last time she was photographed wearing the rock at the 2024 Met Gala on May 6.
