Did Sylvester Stallone Brutally Insult Robert De Niro?

In April and May 2024, numerous posts on X claimed that actor Sylvester Stallone had turned down a $1 billion project with Robert De Niro because Stallone doesn’t “work with woke people.” One of these posts had garnered more than 158,000 views, 12,000 likes, and 2,100 replies at the time of writing.

These X posts echoed a claim originally published in January 2024 on Facebook. The SpaceX Fanclub page shared an image with a headline telling the same story:

Commenters then expressed their support for Stallone, with one exclaiming “Stallone for the winnnnnnn!!!!!” and another calling for De Niro to leave the United States: “Comrade Deniro. Go back to Russia.”
