America First Legal has sued the Department of Justice in demand of the immediate release of records relating to “credible allegations” of “improper collusion by the Biden White House and Department of Justice (DOJ) in the sham political show trial of President Trump conducted by Alvin Bragg, the New York County District Attorney’s Office, and Judge Juan Merchan” via Trending Politics News.
It has been noted that the allegations of collusion between the Biden Administration and Bragg’s office mainly focus on Matthew Colangelo, a senior Biden DOJ official who left the department in order to join Bragg’s team as a prosecutor. Before taking a low-level job as a prosecutor with Bragg’s office, Colangelo was the third most senior officer official in the entire Department of Justice.
“Today, AFL sued the DOJ to compel the immediate release of previously requested records regarding Matthew Colangelo, a key figure in the partisan and politically-motivated prosecution of President Trump in Manhattan,” America First Legal wrote in a press release.
In addition to the lawsuit, the legal group filed several additional Freedom of Information Act Requests for communications concerning Colangelo’s hiring. The group is demanding communications between Colangelo and the New York County District Attorney’s Office, Special Counsel Jack Smith, Jay Bratt, David Harbach, and the group called “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington” (CREW).
A second request is seeking communications between Matt Klapper and the New York County District Attorney’s Office, Special Counsel Smith, Bratt, Harbach, Colangelo, the Public Integrity Section of the DOJ, and CREW. Klapper currently serves as Attorney General Merrick Garland’s chief of staff.
“These critical records will expose the relationship between Colangelo, Klapper, the Biden White House, Special Counsel Smith, and the New York County District Attorney in the sham prosecution of President Trump,” America First Legal’s press release continued.
“The ‘Russian collusion’ hoax turned out to be a deep state operation to interfere in the 2016 election and then to cripple the duly elected President of the United States. The American people have a right to know the extent to which the deep state is also part of the New York show trial circus and the leftist election interference program. AFL will keep fighting to uncover the truth.”
