Former President Donald Trump’s conviction in his criminal hush money trial has certainly brought his family, including his wife Melania and daughter Ivanka, closer than ever before. Page Six reported that: “[The case has] brought the entire family closer together than they have ever been.”
The outlet has further mentioned a thawing in the sometimes frosty relationship between Melania and Ivanka. “The entire family including all Trump’s children, and their [significant others, including Don Jr.’s fiancee] Kimberly Guilfoyle are all circling the wagons.”
It has been noted that a New York jury found Trump guilty of all 34 charges related to a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through a hush money payment to Story Daniels, an adult film star, who claimed to have had an affair with him.
Judge Juan M Merchan has scheduled Trump’s sentencing for July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where GOP leaders are expected to formally nominate him as their presidential candidate, reports the Express US.
The guilty verdict has seemingly worked somewhat in Trump’s favor – not only has it brought his family together, but it has also served as a significant fundraising boost. Trump’s team announced on Monday that their campaign raised $141 million in May, a massive fundraising haul that includes tens of millions of dollars raised in the aftermath of the trial.
However, Page Six added: “Donald’s hurting inside and this guilty verdict has really taken a toll on him.” Following Trump’s court case, his son Barron, along with Melania and Ivanka have all reportedly converged at Trump Tower.
The outlet further reported reveals: “Words of support have overridden any past tension as the family comes together. The family has closed ranks and is behind the campaign. Friends say they haven’t seen the family on the same page like this since his inauguration years ago.”
