Trump’s Nephew Reveals ‘Dark Side’ Of Family

Fred C. Trump III, nephew of former President Donald J. Trump and older brother of Mary Trump, is set to publish a memoir about the Trump family, according to Simon & Schuster. The memoir, titled “All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way,” will be released on July 30 by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, just a few months before the 2024 presidential election, where Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee against President Joe Biden.

The publisher describes the memoir as a “candid and revealing” account of growing up in the Trump family, featuring “never-before-told stories” that illuminate the darker aspects of the Trump empire. The motivation behind the book is linked to the upcoming election, suggesting it could influence voters’ decisions. However, specifics about the book’s focus on Donald Trump remain unclear.

Fred Trump III has generally stayed out of the public eye and has not been a vocal critic of his uncle. He declined to be interviewed for the book’s promotion. This memoir adds another dimension to the complex Trump family narrative. Fred and Mary Trump are the children of Fred Trump Jr., Donald Trump’s older brother, who struggled with alcoholism and died in 1981. After their grandfather Fred Trump Sr.’s death in 1999, Fred III and Mary contested the will, claiming they were cheated out of their inheritance by their father’s siblings.

Fred Trump III distanced himself from Mary Trump’s 2020 memoir, “Too Much and Never Enough,” which detailed the family’s troubled history and accused Donald Trump of unethical behavior. In a 2020 statement, Fred III emphasized his strong relationship with his extended family and his lack of involvement in Mary Trump’s book.

Simon & Schuster aims to continue its successful streak of Trump-related memoirs with Fred Trump III’s book. The publisher has previously released books by other Trump associates and family members, including John R. Bolton, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Mike Pence, and Kellyanne Conway.

Fred Trump III’s decision to write the memoir marks a significant departure from his previous stance of staying out of the political spotlight. He reflects on this change in the book, stating, “Silence is golden only when there is nothing that needs to be said.”
