U.K. entertainer James Castle lost his life after a lengthy battle with acute myeloid leukemia that lasted four years.nCastle, whose real name was Jamie Stacie, passed away at the age of 35 on Saturday. His wife and fellow wrestler Zoe Lucas confirmed the news.
He made his debut for RevPro in the U.K. back in 2013, teaming up with Sha Samuels as The Revolutionists. The duo captured the promotion’s tag team titles in June 2015 and held onto them for a year before dropping them to Charlie Garrett & Joel Redman.
Castle & Samuels’ last match together in RevPro was in March 2017, where they were defeated by Trent Seven & Tyler Bate. This led to a No Disqualification match the following month, which Castle won against Samuels.
Throughout his career, Castle competed for various U.K. promotions including IPW, X Wrestling Alliance, and The Wrestling League, but he was most closely associated with RevPro.
In 2018, he formed a tag team with Dan Head and challenged Roppongi 3K (SHO & YOH) for the RevPro Undisputed British tag team titles at York Hall in September of that year. They also faced off against A-Kid (Axiom in NXT) & Carlos Romo, as well as Aussie Open.
Castle’s wrestling career came to an end in 2019 when he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) the following year, during the pandemic that had caused many local wrestling companies to shut down.
In January of this year, he revealed that the leukemia had returned, and doctors could only manage the disease, not treat it. They gave him a grim prognosis, stating that he had “months rather than years” left to live.
