Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s 5-year-old daughter, Navy Joan, reveals startling details of their relationship in her forthcoming book, “Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden.” The book, which will be released on August 20, includes Roberts’ accounts of Biden’s erratic behavior following her pregnancy announcement and his ongoing struggles with addiction.
Roberts describes how one of her close friends in Washington, D.C., admitted to having a drunken encounter with Hunter shortly after Roberts revealed her pregnancy and played a recording of the baby’s heartbeat for him. In an unexpected twist, both women confronted Hunter over speakerphone.
Following this revelation, Hunter met with Roberts but rather than addressing his infidelity, he asked her for money to buy a Gatorade from CVS. While Hunter initially expressed support for Roberts’ decision to keep the baby, his behavior soon deteriorated.
Their relationship, which began at an after-hours party at Hunter’s company Rosemont Seneca’s D.C. headquarters in the Swedish embassy building, took a dark turn as Hunter’s addiction to crack cocaine worsened. Roberts’ book recounts a harrowing incident where Hunter nearly overdosed at a Georgetown hotel, collapsing in front of Roberts and her friends during a girls’ night out.
Despite the chaos, Roberts recounts moments of intimacy with Hunter, though he failed to attend a crucial ultrasound appointment. She details Hunter’s struggle with his own demons, including a conversation where he lamented his inability to support her, describing himself as a “f***ing loser” and a “walking disappointment.”
