This revelation occurred on the first day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, shortly after Trump survived an attempted assassination at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Vance gained national prominence through his bestselling memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” later adapted into a film. Initially critical of Trump during the 2016 campaign, Vance shifted to become a vocal supporter after receiving Trump’s endorsement in his Senate bid.
