Vince McMahon was the CEO of WWE before he had to step down following allegations of sexual misconduct and allegedly having paid $12 million in hush money in a huge scandal. He eventually retired from WWE for good and was replaced by his daughter Stephanie McMahon as the CEO of WWE. His son-in-law Triple H is now the Executive Vice President of Talent and Relations as well. Vince McMahon also lied about quitting WWE recently.
While speaking in a recent interview with Just Alyx, Maria Kanellis revealed that she had talks with Triple H prior to signing with AEW last month. Despite those talks, Maria disclosed that she felt AEW was the place for them.
“We definitely communicated with Triple H as our contracts were coming up with IMPACT Wrestling. And so, like, we did that, you know, that courtesy conversation and it went really well and at the end of the day, I think AEW is the place that we belong,” said Maria Kanelis.
Maria had two runs with WWE with her first run being the longest lasting six years between 2004 and 2010 and then yet another one in 2017, before getting released again in 2020.
