AEW Lose Massive Free Agent To WWE

Sasha Banks is now Mercedes Mone. Her debut in NJPW as the latter made it clear that she wants to explore other avenues before signing a big deal with AEW or returning to the WWE.

Dave Meltzer spoke about it on the recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio where he categorically talked about the entire situation. While there’s a belief that Sasha Banks would bank on her character later in the day, some believe that the time with Mr. McMahon’s company is over. Meltzer says she’ll likely eventually return to WWE.

I also know from WWE that they are very strongly under the impression that she will not wrestle for AEW … They think that she’s coming back at some point, and she’ll get this out of her system [and] she’ll do her New Japan matches. Because, she’s only contracted for a couple of matches … and if she’s going to AEW, she has to sign for 3 years minimum, because why bother if she’s going back?

She is not in Los Angeles. She is not coming to AEW. I don’t think she wants to make that commitment. Because if she goes to AEW it’s a long commitment.

It confirms that Sasha Banks will wrestle in different promotions before making her way back in the wrestling juggernaut. The company means business and so does Sasha, and you can bank on it.

Do you think Sasha Banks is the legit superstar to make a return to AEW? Sound off in the comments.
