AEW not surprised with WWE’s counter programming

AEW will be making its debut on TNT on October 2nd at 8:00 PM EST. They will have competition as  NXT will begin their weekly two-hour show on September 18th in the same timeslot.

During the media press conference following AEW All Out,  the Young Bucks were asked regarding AEW’s direction and their competition with WWE.

Putting NXT on the USA Network was a way for WWE to stop people from watching AEW and Matt Jackson said this will not change their plans.  Matt said that he does not think AEW should be focused on what WWE is doing and simply tunnel vision on their own selves. He thinks that if the focus is too much on what they are doing then their originality or creativity may suffer, and added that AEW has had a clear goal since day one.

Matt then said that they were not surprised by WWE’s move at all and were waiting for it. Their goal will remain the same.

The world of professional wrestling will change from October and it will be interesting to see how AEW performs.
