The former Undisputed Elite member Bobby Fish has apparently parted ways with AEW. He had inked a deal with AEW in October last year after being released from WWE. He subsequently signed a deal with the company and faced top names like Bryan Danielson and CM Punk. After a brief run as a singles competitor, he had teamed up with Kyle O’Reilly on the company’s programming. However, recent reports have suggested that the former may not be renewing his current contract.
Bobby Fish has departed AEW
While speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez speculated that Bobby Fish’s time with All Elite Wrestling has seemingly ended. PWInsider.com reported his deal ended yesterday.
“That sounds early, cause he started in October but I know you’re right, it’s not probably, he’s done. It’s confirmed, he’s done. Whatever the deal was, either he was not offered a renewal or he chose to not to be renewed. He had said things. He had complained on his podcast about not getting enough matches.”
Fish had a great run in WWE alongside Cole, O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong as The Undisputed Era. The 45-year-old also had a lengthy career in Ring of Honor and NJPW. He recently reformed his iconic stable in AEW and rebranded it as The Undisputed Elite.
Fish last appeared on the August 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, when the Undisputed Elite returned. Fish, Adam Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly betrayed the Young Bucks to seemingly launch some sort of program, but they haven’t been seen since. He last wrestled for AEW at the July taping of AEW Dark: Elevation. Fish has been taking bookings on the independent scene; he defeated Yuya Uemura at DEFY Doomsayers on August 20.
There has been no official word regarding the situation from AEW or Bobby Fish.
