The former WWE star Alberto Del Rio was previously accused of kidnapping and sexual assault. He is currently awaiting for his trial. If he is found guilty of the crime then he could get lifetime imprisonment.
Alberto Del Rio wrestles AEW stars
Amid all these, he wrestled a private event yesterday. Interestingly, the event also saw several AEW stars and it has drawn some attention.
SoCal Uncensored of AEW recently took to the social media account and tweeted out to share the details of the wrestling event. It has been revealed that the event was privately held and thereby tickets were not sold and no promotion was done. Del Rio had battled Daga. Other AEW stars included the likes of Penta and Brian Cage.
Joey Ryan reflected on this incident and has questioned as to why AEW would allow this when it is known that Del Rio has actual charges against him and is awaiting trial. He said:
“So a couple of AEW talent worked a show last night with Alberto Del Rio, who’s been arrested for & awaits trial for kidnapping & sexual assault, but working a show with me, who has never been arrested and never had any legal troubles whatsoever, is where Tony Khan draws the line?”
