Aleister Black was on his way to a triple threat match with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV. Black recently lost the NXT Championship to Tommaso Ciampa when Gargano interfered in their match, distracting Black.
Since then, we’ve been building towards the match, with Black landing a Black Mass on an unsuspecting Johnny Gargano on the most recent edition of NXT. However, it seems that we won’t be getting that Triple Threat.
According to Dave Meltzer, Black was injured during an NXT show in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The Anti-Hero was facing off against new NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa when he was crotched on the turnbuckle in what was described as a “scary” moment. Though Black finished the match, it seems that whatever the injury was will require surgery.
It’s unknown what the injury is at this point, but for now, it looks like Aleister Black will miss NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.
