Batista WrestleMania Return Update Revealed

After a fan-rated failed run in WWE after winning the 2014 Royal Rumble match, Batista started his path to retirement. PWInsider recently reported on The Animal making his upcoming WrestleMania return.

One of the biggest ticket sellers for WWE in the Ruthless Aggression era was none other than Batista. Joining the likes of HHH, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton to round out the heel-centric stable known as Evolution, Batista would turn on HHH and Flair to carve out a path of his own going over heavily with fans.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider spoke breifly on the possibility of Batista making one more run within WWE.

Mike was asked: “Could Batista return for WrestleMania?” without hesitation, the question was answered briefly: “He’s in Australia filming the new Thor film and he’s retired.  I don’t see that happening, not as a big part of Mania.”

While this comes as no shock to most, a run from Batista probably wouldn’t go over if we were judging from his last run. Wrestling fans have moved on from the seven-foot-tall muscular giants and want more of a “real” looking superstar they can get behind.

Batista has seemingly moved on from wrestling full-time. Batista chose to take the path of The Rock by getting paid more doing movies that entail less injuries and much more time off. I can’t say I blame him for that.

As a fan of Batista’s, I always wondered how a good last run for him would’ve went. I suppose myself and other fans of his will never truly know.
