Becky Lynch and Drew McIntyre’s WWE contracts expire a couple months after WrestleMania. They haven’t resigned.
Ronda Rousey grabbed wrestling headlines with her departure from WWE after her SummerSlam showdown against Shayna Baszler the previous year, opting for a hiatus from the professional wrestling scene. Yet, she has recently stirred up attention by unveiling surprising details about her tenure in WWE, alleging that Stephanie McMahon caused her to suffer a concussion.
In an interview with Rick Ucchino of CagesideSeats.com, Ronda Rousey discussed the injuries she endured during her stint with WWE.
Rousey disclosed that she sustained a concussion following a slap from Stephanie McMahon at Elimination Chamber in 2018. Furthermore, she recounted receiving an open-hand slap from Nikki Bella in the days leading up to their match at Evolution, which left her dazed and with a headache lingering throughout the day.
Acknowledging her initial reluctance to speak out about her injuries due to concerns it might disrupt her scheduled matches, Rousey confessed to a lifetime of concealing concussions. However, she now feels liberated to openly address such issues.
“It gave me a concussion [Being slapped by Stephanie McMahon at Elimination Chamber in 2018]. Nikki Bella gave me an open hand slap [in the days leading to their match at Evolution] and I was seeing stars and I had a headache for the rest of the day.”
“I didn’t wanna say anything. I didn’t want them to say, ‘Oh, you can’t do this match that you’ve been preparing for. You can’t do this, can’t do that. And I had a lifetime of experience hiding concussions. And so now that I’ve basically putting all of that behind me, I can finally be open about these things.”
