More On Bobby Roode Appearing At WWE NXT Takeover: Dallas

As noted, Bobby Roode was seen sitting ringside at NXT Takeover: Dallas:

Roode posted this teaser on Twitter:

No word yet on his status with WWE but it’s believed that he will be signing with the company soon.

In my case, i said “coming from the bullet club”, not from Japan, and kenta was never a member of the club, the only exception to the rule is Devitt, but i think WWE send him to NXT because they see him like their new face on the future, they see him like champion material, and sure they are trying to work with him all they can to make him that new face… thats something they dont see on styles and the other members of the bullet club that are going directly to the main roster.

but the likes of KENTA and Devitt went to NXT, so I am still not convinced coming from Japan is that much of a reason to put them straight on the main roster. Could just be that someone went to bat for him specifically.

what gave AJ that “main roster value” was that he was part of the popular Bullet Club, and thats also why Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows are coming too… with Joe, he stayed with TNA, and like every TNA guy coming directly from TNA (storm, aries, etc) they are send to NXT…

I’m not sure, it seems like coming from NJPW maybe they placed more value on him/his name, maybe Joe (as popular as he is) just didnt have that straight to the main roster “value” to them, as they always mention NJPW in relation to AJ, and I doubt they’d mention TNA in relation to anyone, ever, ROH somewhat (although I don’t watch NXT much so I have no idea how they hype him)

Some of the decisions they make are crazy to be fair. No idea why, for instance, has AJ bypassed NXT while Joe went straight there? If you look at the two main names in TNA history as far as their own guys, its AJ and Joe, yet one was considered big enough to skip dev and one wasn’t.

  • CC

yeah, but the point remains, why did they not give him a contract initially? every other ex-TNA guy has been given a contract from the off.

Supposedly, Storm was offered a lot more money to return to TNA than he was being offered to stay in WWE/NXT. He did say that he spoke to HHH and other NXT officials about the offer and they were understanding – he left on good terms.

  • Solid

Yeah I dunno what happened there, both Storm and Roode are great talents, so you sign Storm and wait for Roode to come up if you’re going to put them in a tag team and if not they’re both great singles wrestlers you pick them both up anyways.

Considering how WWE dropped the ball with Storm not being under contract, I am surprised they would be interested in Roode. They really do seem to be getting over their issues with signing ex-TNA guys.
