The Beast Brock Lesnar was all set to face Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship in the main event of SmackDown’s Fox premiere episode.
The match itself turned out to be very short. The Beast Incarnate was able to defeat the New Day member with just one F5 and was declared the new WWE Champion.
However, the action didn’t end there in a star-studded episode of the Blue Branded Show as Rey Mysterio made his return to WWE programming after being taken down by Brock on Raw.
Rey hadn’t come alone on the show and he brought along a name the new Champion Brock Lesnar is very familiar with in UFC Star Cain Velasquez.
Velasquez went on to attack Lesnar forcing the WWE Champion to retreat. While Brock did think about going back to the ring, he ultimately decided against it and the show ended with Brock Lesnar standing on the stage while Cain Velasquez stood tall in the ring.
There were rumors that the Rey Mysterio angle on Raw was a set up for the WWE debut of the former UFC Champion but nobody expected him to make his debut so soon.
Now it would be interesting to see how their rivalry progresses and when these two old foes come face to face once again inside a wrestling ring.
