A lot has changed in the past year when it comes to CM Punk and while the former World Champion previously stressed that he wouldn’t wrestle again, in recent interviews, he has suggested that he can come out of his retirement for the right money and opportunity.
Another thing that has changed for him is that Punk is back under the WWE banner and while he is technically considered a Fox employee, CM Punk working on WWE Backstage is still a significant development.
During a recent talk with Kevin in the Mornings, Punk was asked a very interesting question regarding his deal with Fox. The former World Champion was asked if he can wrestle for AEW while still working on WWE Backstage and CM Punk said that technically he can do so:
“I think if I was wrestling for AEW, I’m sure Fox would be like, ‘well, it was fun while it lasted.’ I guess technically [I could],” Punk said. “Technically I could do that yeah, but I’m sure Fox would be like, ‘well?’”
Later in the interview, CM Punk also revealed how Renee Young had a big hand in making his WWE return possible and the former WWE Champion said “I don’t think it would have happened if it wasn’t for her.”
