Cody Rhodes Massive Demand To Vince McMahon Leaks

Cody was one of the highlights of AEW television as he immediately made an impact in the company. He even competed in the first-ever match on AEW Dynamite against Sammy Guevara, which he won. In addition, many long-time fans of All Elite Wrestling called Cody Rhodes match against his brother, Dustin at AEW’s inaugural pay-per-view event back in 2019 not only one of Cody’s best but one of the company’s best in its short infancy.

Since then, Rhodes has won the TNT Championship on three different occasions and has put over numerous stars such as MJF, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and many others. Rhodes would also be a part of a beloved mixed tag team matchup that featured NBA icon, Shaquille O’Neal. Towards the end of his run in AEW, Cody Rhodes was also largely hated by fans as they simply wanted him to turn heel but he never did.

It was announced that Cody and his wife Brandi Rhodes had parted with the company after working there for over three years. This was seen as a shocking move as their departures came out of the left field and many fans expected to see them involved in more storylines as well.

After a lot of speculation, Cody Rhodes finally signed a contract with WWE a couple of weeks ago. On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Cody Rhodes’ new WWE contract will still allow him to work on the Go Big Show.

“Is he going to like it? I mean, he had a lot of pull in the other company. Maybe they want to groom him for something. You know, there are a million different things. Maybe there’s going to be opportunities from NBC Universal for him now that he’s got his thing.

Again, Go Big Show and everything, if that show gets renewed, he can still do that show. I’m pretty sure. I don’t know 100% because I don’t know the contract, but I would be pretty sure he would work that into the contract, the things that he already had deals with… where if it’s a previous deal, I can still do it, as opposed to new deals, obviously Vince [McMahon] would have to approve. That sort of sucks when you want to be an actor and you’re in WWE.

That is a negative. With Tony [Kahn, head of AEW], he would be able to just be like, ‘Hey, I got this gig and it’s really good,’ and Tony would be like, ‘Sure,’ unless it’s like the week before a pay-per-view and you’re booked into something big. It’s interesting. And in AEW, he was guaranteed to be a player. In WWE, there are no guarantees. So, it’ll be fun to watch.”
