Congressman Shows Trump Foreign Crime Evidence On TV

The “Morning Joe” show on MSNBC commenced its Friday episode with a startling revelation from a House Democrat report alleging that former President Donald Trump garnered $7.8 million in revenue from foreign nations during his presidency. Representative Robert Garcia, appearing on the show, emphasized the gravity of the report, stating, “This report shows where the real grift and corruption and illegal activity is. We have receipts, we have bank records, we have accounting.”

The House Oversight Committee, led by Democrats, released a 155-page report on Thursday, claiming that businesses owned by Trump received a minimum of $7.8 million from 20 foreign governments, including China, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, while he held the presidency.

This development comes amid an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption involving the Biden family, led by House Oversight Chair James Comer. Although this inquiry has triggered an impeachment inquiry, it has so far failed to produce substantial evidence, relying on suggestive and circumstantial information to allege wrongdoing by President Joe Biden.

Jonathan Lemire, on the show, drew a parallel between the evidence presented in the report and the claims by House GOP members regarding the Trump family’s alleged profiting during his presidency, mirroring accusations made against the Bidens.

Garcia was questioned about how he planned to convey this information to his Republican colleagues and whether it would impact their perspective. In response, Garcia emphasized that there was zero evidence linking President Biden to any wrongdoing. He accused Republicans of projecting and highlighted the comprehensive nature of the report, stating that it laid out the evidence, including receipts, bank records, and accounting details.

Garcia criticized House Republicans, including James Comer and the new speaker, for attempting to initiate an impeachment process, characterizing it as a “scam” to target the Biden family. He underscored the contrast between Biden and Trump, asserting that Biden had no business interests while serving as president, while Trump had intricate mechanisms for accumulating money from foreign governments to benefit himself and his family.

“So tell us how you will bring this to your Republican colleagues. What do you think? Does this change anything? Do you make that argument?” he asked. “And frankly, what do you see as the future of the Hunter Biden probes, which, again, members of your committee are trying to make a central part of President Biden’s reelection campaign?”

“Let’s be just clear. There is zero evidence, of course, as we know, that links present Biden with any wrongdoing. Republicans cannot come up with any information or any sort of wrongdoing,” Garcia replied. “And they are clearly projecting. I mean, this report shows where the real grift and corruption and illegal activity is.”

“We have receipts, we have bank records, we have accounting. It’s all there laid out in the report. And there is much more that has yet to be uncovered,” he added. “And so that Republicans it’s incredible to see the hypocrisy that the House Republicans, that James Comer, that the new speaker, are trying are trying to put together with this impeachment scam that they have put together, essentially to try to attack the Biden family.”

“But President Biden has no business interests as he serves as president,” he added. “Donald Trump had a complex web of ways of pulling in money from foreign governments to enrich himself and his family. And so we’re going to make that contrast. Clearly, Republicans want to just throw whatever they can at the wall.”

In conclusion, Garcia pledged to emphasize this contrast and accused Republicans of attempting to throw anything at the wall in their pursuit. The discussion encapsulated the ongoing political dynamics and the efforts to shape public perception through contrasting narratives surrounding the Trump and Biden families.
