TMZ has reported that they have obtained video footage of former UFC Double Champion Conor McGregor and the alleged sexual abuse victim heading into what appears to be a bathroom at the Kaseya Center.
The Irishman was in attendance to watch the NBA finals showdown between Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. It has been noted that the alleged victim accused McGregor of sexual abuse and had also implicated the Miami Heat and NBA staff of aiding the Irishman.
In her statement, released through attorney Ariel Mitchell yesterday, the woman alleged that she had been forced into the men’s bathroom at the arena by the Miami Heat security staff before McGregor attempted to force her to have oral sex with him.
McGregor’s legal team denied all allegations. The latest footage, obtained by TMZ, shows the woman being led by the hand into the bathroom not by Miami Heat security staff, as she had initially alleged, but by Conor McGregor. The initial statement had also claimed that she was forcibly transported into the bathroom without her will.
After the video surfaced, Mitchell released an altered statement claiming that his client was six drinks down at that point and hadn’t initially recalled who it was that led her into the bathroom.
The statement also read that his client was under the impression she was being led to the Four Seasons Hotel and to Conor McGregor’s room, as he had apparently asked her to join him there prior to the bathroom incident.
Conor McGregor’s team clarifies
After observing the discrepancies between the accuser’s initial and modified statements, the former UFC champion’s team released a strong rebuttal, branding the accusation a ‘shakedown’.
“After the video was released by TMZ, the claimant’s lawyer now has changed her story. Mr. McGregor welcomes the investigation, which he firmly believes will show the claims against him are false. After not responding to the demand for money made by claimant’s counsel, she turned to the media to apply pressure. This is no more than a shakedown.”
