Voletta Wallace, the mother of the late rapper Notorious B.I.G., has expressed her outrage towards Sean “Diddy” Combs in light of recent allegations and a leaked surveillance video from 2016 that appears to show him assaulting Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura.
In an article published by Rolling Stone on May 30, Wallace did not mince words about her feelings. “I’m sick to my stomach,” she said. “I hope that I see Sean one day and the only thing I want to do is slap the daylights out of him. And you can quote me on that.”
Wallace expressed her disappointment and embarrassment over the situation. “I liked him. I didn’t want to believe all the awful things, but I’m so ashamed and embarrassed,” she continued.
She also mentioned watching the surveillance video before commenting on Diddy’s relationship with Cassie and other women. “I’m praying for Cassie—I pray that he apologizes to her,” she said. “I’m praying for his mother. I don’t want to believe the things that I’ve heard.”
The video in question was released by CNN on May 17 and shows a man believed to be Diddy grabbing Cassie, pulling her to the ground, and kicking her multiple times. This footage surfaced amidst ongoing legal accusations against Diddy, including a lawsuit filed by Cassie in November 2023, accusing him of rape and physical abuse.
Following the video’s release, Diddy addressed the incident in a social media statement on May 19. “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” he said in an Instagram video. “I was f–ked up. I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
Cassie also spoke out after receiving support from many. “Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet,” she wrote in a May 23 Instagram statement. “Domestic violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I’d become.”
She concluded, “This healing journey is never-ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you.”
