Former President Donald Trump’s wife Melania Trump is seemingly “closer than ever” to the former President and will be “stepping up” her efforts to boost Donald Trump’s campaign. The former First Lady had taken a step back from the public scene following the end of her husband’s term, and kept her comments about his legal woes to a minimum. But following a New York Grand Jury’s decision to indict him on 34 charges in April, Melania has made a comeback and is tipped to play a pivotal role in Donald’s political efforts.
Melania Trump is closer to Donald Trump
Sources close to the couple now claim she will take on a more prominent role as he seeks the Republican nomination for the 2024 election, taking over from stepdaughter Ivanka Trump as her husband’s top advisor.
One insider noted the former President is “really beaming next to Melania” now they have resumed their joint outings at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
Another source said that “the couple seems . . . more bonded than ever” despite Trump facing several legal challenges – including being found guilty of sexually abusing advice columnist E Jean Carroll earlier this week.”
They told Page Six: “Friends say that Melania’s stepping up — while Ivanka and Jared [Kushner] have stepped aside — has made [Trump] more confident than ever.
“Trump says Melania will be by his side during the campaign more than she was last time.”
Trump’s eldest daughter Ivanka and her husband were handed an advisory role in her father’s administration but have since stepped back from politics. The former First Daughter has also remained widely silent about the legal cases involving Donald, only sharing a post on Instagram last month insisting she would be supporting her father.
