Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy was apparently stumped when asked by conservative activist Charlie Kirk who he would choose to be on the Supreme Court via Daily Mail.
It has been noted in a video obtained by DailyMail.com thatKennedy pauses for several seconds after being asked by Kirk to name a ‘current or recent’ Supreme Court justice who’s in line with his views.
After an uncomfortable seven seconds, Kennedy answered, ‘I couldn’t answer that.’
‘I would say I’m going to appoint judges who, who reflect my values,’ Kennedy then said.
Kirk then asked the 2024 hopeful to articulate those values – asking Kennedy if he’d appoint justices more like liberal Justice Elena Kagan or conservative Justice Clarence Thomas.
‘I don’t know, I wouldn’t answer that,’ Kennedy replied.
Kirk then told Kennedy, ‘but respectfully, you’re running for president.’
‘That’s a huge issue for voters, especially for Second Amendment rights, abortion,’ Kirk continued.
Instead, Kennedy listed his ‘important issues.’
‘Free market capitalism, strong environmental protection, strong liberties, human rights, civil rights, bodily autonomy and skepticism toward big business and corporate control of our country and a hostility toward corruption,’ the Democrat-turned-independent candidate said.
Kirk continued to push, asking Kennedy to name his favorite Supreme Court justice ever.
‘Earl Warren,’ Kennedy finally answered.
Kirk pointed out that it was the Warren court that decided official prayer shouldn’t be held in public schools.
