– As noted, former indie wrestler Drake Younger recently began working for WWE NXT as a referee. He is using his real name Drake Wuertz.
Word is that when he heard back from his WWE tryout, he was told that they weren’t looking at anymore cruiserweight sized guys because they have enough in the developmental system. This led to Drake getting a deal as a referee.
While WWE isn’t looking at cruiserweight type talents right now, there’s always going to be exceptions but that’s the general rule right now.
