WWE Hall of Famer Edge was recently spotted in the indies. The legendary wrestling tag team duo Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, collectively known as the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, recently announced that they would be beginning their ‘farewell tour’. The team’s farewell tour began on January 22, when Morton and Gibson took part in a dream match against Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR at the Big Time Wrestling event in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The two teams are two of the greatest teams of their respective eras and the fans were enthralled to witness them face to face. It certainly captured the attention of a lot of wrestling fans, and even wrestlers themselves. WWE Hall of Famer and Raw star Edge shared a photo on his Twitter on January 23), where he revealed that he made the trip to the show to watch the dream match, as well as catch up with his old friends.

“Made a little road trip to see this one and catch up with some old friends.”
Speaking about The Rock N’ Roll Express, the tag-team was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. Morton and Gibson have been teaming for almost 40 years, most recently sharing the ring in November 2021 against the Bollywood Boyz at Wrestlecade: Revenge. While, Edge has been recently involved in a feud with the former WWE Champion The Miz. The Miz alongside his wife Maryse are to square off against the team of Edge and his wife, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix at the upcoming WWE Royal Rumble premium live event.
The Royal Rumble will be held on January 29th of this year at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This will be the first Royal Rumble event to air on the Peacock streaming service in the United States. However, while the event will be airing in the United States, it will be airing on the WWE Network internationally. In keeping with tradition, there will be a men’s and a women’s Royal Rumble match along with special guest entrants. One such name is actor and stuntman Johnny Knoxville along with current Impact Wrestling Knockout World’s Champion – Mickie James, who will be competing in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
