Ex-WWE Diva Tries To Avoid Jail After Killing Man

WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch, better known to fans by her wrestling name, “Sunny,” was sentenced to 17 years in prison in a Volusia County, Florida courtroom over a March 2022 car crash that killed a 75-year-old man.

Sytch, who was driving a 2012 Mercedes-Benz, was accused of rear-ending the victim’s 2013 Kia Sorento while he was stopped at a traffic light. Authorities from the Ormond Beach Police Department later determined that the 50-year-old had a blood alcohol content of .08 (the legal limit in Florida) or higher. After initially pleading not guilty to eight charges stemming from the incident, Sytch reached a plea agreement with prosecutors back in August.

She was ultimately sentenced to 17 out of a possible 25 years, and will also be required to serve eight years of probation following her prison sentence, in addition to having her driver’s license permanently revoked. Before the fatal crash, Sytch had been arrested on DUI charges at least six times in Pennsylvania and New Jersey between 2015 and 2019.

According to PW Insider, Tammy Lynn Sytch’s public defender has initiated the appeal process for her sentencing; however, no court hearings have been scheduled as of now.

Tammy Lynn Sytch remains embroiled in court processes stemming from a lawsuit filed by Julian Lasseter’s estate. In March 2022, Sytch was arrested on several charges, including DUI causing death and causing death while operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, when Lasseter sadly lost his life in a traffic incident.

In an effort to learn more about Sytch’s role in the crash, the estate has put forward a series of questions for the court to consider. In her responses, Sytch cited the Fifth Amendment, claiming she had the right to remain silent and not testify against herself.

Tammy Lynn Sytch is currently scheduled for release from The Florida Department of Corrections on 1/7/40. Sytch had been moved from Volusia County Corrections to a prison facility in Ocala, Florida, after receiving a sentence of 17 years plus an additional 8 years of probation on 11/28.
