AEW World Tag Team Champion Cash Wheeler (Dash Wilder in WWE) was arrested on Friday morning in Orlando, Florida. Video of Wheeler in court after his arrest has leaked below.
It has come to light that Cash Wheeler was taken into custody by the Orlando Police Department and subsequently charged with a single count of aggravated assault with a firearm. County records indicate that he was booked in Circuit Court.
According to Florida public records, the incident that led to Wheeler’s arrest took place several weeks ago. A warrant for his arrest was issued on July 28. He entered a “not guilty” plea on August 3 and was arrested this morning, August 3.
PW Insider reports that Cash Wheeler actually already appeared in court on August 3rd, where he pleaded not guilty to this aggravated assault with a firearm charge. It is unknown what led to Friday morning’s arrest, but it did not take place “overnight.”
“Wheeler filed a plead of not guilty to the the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm via his attorney with the circuit court of Orange County, Florida on 8/3. The charge is considered a third degree felony in the State of Florida. So, whatever incident led to the arrest, it happened several weeks ago and was not something that took place overnight.”
AEW has already made public statement on this arrest. It seems that this issue was something that Wheeler might have thought was taken care of already. All Elite Wrestling issued the following statement:
“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. He is fully cooperating with local authorities.”
