During Thursday’s testimony, former Fulton County District Attorney’s Office staffer, Robin Yeartie, asserted with certainty that she had “no doubt” about the timeline of the romantic relationship between Fani Willis and attorney Nathan Wade, contradicting Willis’ claim that their relationship began only after Wade’s involvement in the Trump Georgia Election Interference case in 2021.
Under questioning from Alison Merchant, an attorney representing Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, Yeartie was asked to confirm her beliefs about the timing of Willis and Wade’s romantic involvement:
MERCHANT: So, without going into all the painstaking details, there’s no doubt in your mind that from 2019 until 2022, Ms. Willis and Mr. Wade were in a romantic relationship?
YEARTIE: What’s the question?
MERCHANT: You have no doubt that their romantic relationship was in effect from 2019 until the last time you spoke with her?
YEARTIE: No doubt.
MERCHANT: And that’s based on your personal observations and, you know, speaking with them and seeing them together and things like that?
YEARTIE: Yes.
Yeartie further revealed that she and Willis had become “good friends” after meeting in college in the 1990s.
These statements directly contradict Willis’ insistence on the timeline of her relationship with Wade, as she has consistently claimed that it began after Wade’s involvement in the 2021 Trump Georgia Election Interference case.
It is crucial to note that Willis has denied any allegations of misconduct, setting the stage for a contentious legal battle as these conflicting testimonies emerge during the ongoing proceedings. The revelations from Yeartie’s testimony may have significant implications for the case involving the Trump Georgia Election Interference and add a layer of complexity to the legal proceedings.
