Finn Balor Almost Rode A Horse To The Ring At NXT Takeover: Dallas

NXT Champion Finn Balor appeared on Sam Roberts’ Wrestling Podcast to discuss a number of topics. Here are the highlights.

On almost riding a horse to the ring at NXT Takeover: Dallas:

“With the Texas [theme], I kind of had this idea that I wanted to come out on a horse and I can’t ride a horse at all. But, of course, on the spur of the moment, I said, ‘let me ask Google has anybody ever tried to enter on a horse in a wrestling match’, and, apparently, Triple H, himself, had attempted it at one time, but they couldn’t can the horse a lot, so he kept bucking at the rehearsal, so they canned the idea.”

On possibly being called up to the main roster:

“Under the guidance of, like, Terry Taylor and Matt Bloom, especially at the [WWE] Performance Center, I would say I’m three times the athlete [and] probably 10 times the brain that I was when I came here and, like, people say, ‘ah, when are you getting the call up? When are you getting the call up? When are you going to be on [WWE Monday Night] RAW?’ Literally, the longer that’s held off and the longer I get to spend in NXT, and it’s not ‘stuck’ in NXT. I get the opportunity to be in NXT. The longer that happens, the more I am prepared when I get there and it’s an investment in time, but when I get there, I’m going to be ready and I’m going to take over.”
