Former WWE Champion On Hiatus For ‘Personal’ Reason

WWE star Kevin Owens recently faced a defeat at the hands of Sami Zayn at Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Following the brutal match, he went on to let his fans know that he would tak his time off.

However, the time off will not last long as Owens will once again have to gear up next week to face Sami Zayn in a Money in the Bank qualifier match on Friday Night SmackDown. Nikki Bella Said WWE Diva ‘Looks Like A Man’

WWE changes plans for Kevin Owens

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reflected on this situation. It has been noted that Meltzer had said he was told Owens was granted time off and it would be used in the storyline.

But, now the situation has changed and WWE has booked him in a last man standing match which is set for next week.

Dave Meltzer said:

“Monday he said he was leaving. I was told, I was like, ‘what’s up with Kevin? Is he hurt? It’s like, ‘no he asked for personal time off.’ I was told that specifically, so I hope all of his injuries healed in that week.”

It is not known why WWE decided to bring him back into the programming. There is a possibility that the company has changed the plans for the former WWE Universal Champion. We will have to see if he is able to secure a spot in the MITB Ladder match.
