FOX reportedly wish to have Ronda Rousey on SmackDown next year

Ahead of WWE SmackDown’s switch to FOX next year, it has been reported that the channel wants Ronda Rousey to be switched from RAW over to the blue brand.

As reported earlier, the officials at FOX wants the programme to be more sports-oriented rather than having comedy involved. The officials believe that the addition of Rousey will give the show the boost desired due to her MMA background, popularity and credibility as an athlete.

Moreover, the officials at FOX also believe that having Rousey on SmackDown will also help in their efforts in cross-programming campaigns between WWE and other programs.

In a step to deviate towards the sports-oriented atmosphere, FOX were reported to be vying for Cormier as a potential commentator. While the UFC Champion could not give an audition due to his clash against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230, he has mentioned on Busted Open Radio that he still intends to give the audition

I hope this isn’t a sign of the Fox Network wanting to just take control of too much of the product.

As bad as the booking can be under Vince, Fox could put some guy in charge who knows nothing about the product, and make it even worse.

I believe Smackdown is going to have a lot more big names when it goes to Fox. I think WWE biggest goal is to have both Raw and Smackdown move to Fox. That why they only sign a 2 years deal with NBC to keep Raw on the USA network.

Since she’s been on RAW, they have had a number of record low ratings. While clearly it is not all her fault, it’s clear that she’s not bringing over a bunch of eyeballs to the product either.

No surprise that Fox would want her on their show. I can almost bet they want most of the top guys on there as well. Can even imagine they will push for Lesnar to re-sign once his contract is up and have him on SD too.
