Asuka was recently thwarted as the champion of the blue brand by Charlotte Flair. The Empress Of Tomorrow now finds herself fixated in a spot in the Women’s battle royal while Charlotte Flair heads to the main event.

With the event stacked with as many as 16 matches, the WWE decided to scrap away a separate match for the SmackDown Women’s title. The initial plan before Charlotte’s title victory pencilled Asuka to defend her title in a triple threat bout against Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose at the Greatest Stage Of Them All.
The fate of the women’s title going ahead is intriguing as the main event is announced as “winner takes all” by Stephanie McMahon.
