Is Matt Riddle Leaving WWE With Edge?

There had been speculation regarding WWE Hall of Famer Edge and Matt Riddle. Edge’s future is seemingly up in the air after his WWE contract expired this month. He recently concluded his WWE deal with a victory over Sheamus on SmackDown in late August.

Edge denied a report that WWE had declined his contract request, fueling rumors of a potential move to AEW. He mentioned a contract extension offer from WWE in a Twitter video.

According to PW Insider, Edge is no longer listed on WWE’s internal talent roster, although WWE.com still lists him as an active performer. The WWE Hall of Famer is now officially no longer with the company.

Since news of Edge’s contract expiration surfaced, there has been speculation within WWE that he might join AEW, where he could reunite with his longtime friend and tag team partner, Christian Cage. That reunion could very well be possible.

It remains uncertain whether AEW has engaged in talks with Edge, and his future remains uncertain. It’s also possible that Edge may retire again or re-sign with WWE.

Meanwhile, Matt Riddle recently claimed he was sexually assaulted at JFK airport. Following the incident, he was pulled from Raw and this weekend’s live events in Idaho and Washington. As previously reported, Riddle missed Raw because he was dealing with a double ear infection and bronchitis.

PW Insider has also reported that their sources in WWE told them that Riddle is currently slated to return next week at Monday Night Raw.
