One of the greatest UFC fighters of all time if not THE greatest UFC fighter of all time, Khabib Nurmagomedov recently spoke up about Francis Ngannou in a recent interview. Khabib was asked who he would sign first if he had his own promotion or what he feels other promotions should look out for. Khabib looks like he gave a little snub to his friend Ngannou as he stated that Francis Ngannou would not be his first choice. Who is the first choice may shock you as compared to Ngannou. Khabib Nurmagomedov stated the following about who would be first on the list to sign to a promotion: “I would probably sign a heavyweight. We have a deficit of good heavyweights. It would be interesting to sign either Francis Ngannou or Ciryl Gane. I believe Ciryl Gane is the best heavyweight in MMA, but as a promotion owner, Ngannou is a better choice. He knocks people unconscious.”
As Khabib alluded to, Ciryl Gane seems to be the absolute first choice as far as investing into who he believes is the best heavyweight in MMA today. Ngannou seems to fall a bit short for Khabib here, but from a raking in the money standpoint, Khabib does feel that Francis Ngannou would be the best. I’m going to call this a tie.
