Fox News legal editor Kerri Urbahn asserted that the impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden wasn’t solely a product of Fox News while criticizing him for allegedly misleading statements about his son’s business activities on Wednesday.
During an appearance on America Reports, Urbahn addressed questions from John Roberts regarding Hunter Biden’s involvement in the family business and its potential ties to the president. Urbahn suggested that Hunter Biden leveraged his father’s name and connections for business deals, indicating a lack of personal qualifications for such ventures.
Responding to questions about the legality and ethical implications of these dealings, Urbahn acknowledged that not all questionable actions necessarily constitute illegal behavior or rise to the level of impeachable offenses.
She questioned the direction of the investigation and highlighted Joe Biden’s purported dishonesty regarding his knowledge of his son’s business dealings, citing contradictions between his statements and those made by Hunter Biden in court. Urbahn argued that this discrepancy raised questions about the president’s motives for concealing information and protecting his son.
Urbahn referenced testimony from Special Counsel Robert Hur, suggesting that Joe Biden’s characterization of Hunter Biden as his “left arm” contradicted claims of ignorance regarding his son’s activities. She emphasized the implausibility of such claims and concluded that the situation warranted further scrutiny.
Roberts interjected with a quip about the president’s purported lack of awareness, to which Urbahn reiterated her skepticism and highlighted the need for continued investigation.
The segment concluded with Urbahn emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency in addressing the alleged discrepancies in Biden’s statements regarding his son’s business dealings.
“I think the reason we’re still here, personally, is because Joe Biden has just continued to lie about what he knew or didn’t know about his son’s business dealings. And we know this because his own son contradicted him in court,” argued Urbahn. “And there have been other things that have, you know, these are not, it’s not like a Fox News thing and stuff. Like, no, you can read the court filing and know that he lied. And, you know, the question is, well, why are you lying if there’s no problem? What are you trying to protect if there’s no there there? And you know, the other thing I thought of is last week we heard from Special Counsel Robert Hur. And something that came out in that testimony was that Joe Biden said in his interview with Hur, apparently, that Hunter Biden was his, quote, left arm. So are you really telling us, Mr. President-”
“That the right arm didn’t know what the left arm was doing?” offered Roberts.
“Right, that you’ve never asked your left arm ‘Hey son, how’s business going?’ It just doesn’t, you can’t believe this stuff and so here we are,” concluded Urbahn.
