Tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw was kicked off in a big way as John Cena greeted the WWE Universe in Dallas, Texas after a shocking re-emergence at WWE’s annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view event. After some joking moments which consisted of Cena saying he was going to wear his ‘Peacemaker’ outfit at the upcoming premiere for Suicide Squad – Cena discussed his intentions to challenge the current WWE Universal Champion, ‘The Head of the Table’ Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam. Did Vince McMahon ‘lie’ about John Cena?
Explaining why Cena wanted the match, the future WWE Hall of Famer stated that the Roman Reigns experience has ‘gone on long enough’, that Reigns needed to be ‘knocked down a peg’ and that because Roman Reigns is an asshole. However, the word ‘asshole’ was censored by WWE.
In addition, Cena would describe ‘The Tribal Chief’ as ‘arrogant, self-absorbed, over-hyped and over-protected’. In addition Cena would proclaim that Reigns isn’t as ‘over’ as he believes he is.
In other news regarding John Cena, the newly-crowned Men’s WWE Money in the Bank contract holder – Big E was recently interviewed by DAZN Sports where he discussed the surprising return of John Cena. Credit to the outlet for the below.
Big E: “It’s the John Cena show tonight. So I am intrigued, though. This is the first Raw back with a live crowd. That Cena pop. Can I be a bit of a mark right here for a second? That Cena pop was one of the loudest I can remember. There are moments where you know something’s gonna come. So you kind of stick your head out, and you can kind of see the fans. I wish I had known, but I was back doing interviews and whatnot afterwards. But I watched it back. It was the loudest pop, and I said for a while was when Dolph (Ziggler) won Money in the Bank. But I was at ringside. This one might be the loudest pop I’ve ever heard since I’ve been here. They were very excited for John.”
