John Cena Makes Sad WWE PPV Announcement

WWE star John Cena might be back soon. He had returned to the company last month to build on his feud with the WWE United States Champion Austin Theory. The two faced off in the opening match of Night One of WrestleMania 39, where the rising star controversially picked up a win.

Following the match, Cena had expressed his gratitude to the fans in attendance and waved to the crowd, which led many to believe that he could be done with pro wrestling. However, the chances of that happening are minimal at the moment. Billi Bhatti recently reported that he met Cena and said, “he’s not likely to be doing SummerSlam.”

John Cena was rumored to face Logan Paul

It was previously reported that WWE was considering Cena vs. Logan Paul for the two-night event in Los Angeles but those plans fell through. Wrestling insider WrestleVotes gave an update on that match in a new interview with GiveMeSport, saying both sides still want to do it at some point and that it could happen as early as SummerSlam on Aug. 5 in Detroit.

“Logan loved the idea and Cena was totally down it. They’d have made mega money and it’s just a matter of when. They want to tell a good story because they’re megastars, so there’s got to be a reason. The matches is very much on the table, even at a SummerSlam. All parties involved want to do it,” the insider stated.
