Kevin Owens talks about the Wild Card Rule

The WWE Wild Card Rule was introduced by Vince McMahon a while ago on RAW and it has met with criticism as it is full of issues.

Some WWE superstars are frustrated that the top names are appearing on both brands and are taking away their spots and preventing them from getting the spotlight. In fact, a few superstars haven’t even been seen on WWE television following the Superstar Shake-Up.

Kevin Owens spoke to Sporting News, where he talked about the Wild Card Rule without directly criticizing it. Here is what he said:

“I guess the whole point of the wild-card rule is to add a sense of unpredictability to all the shows and I guess it definitely has achieved that because you never know who is going to show up where.”

“The wild-card rule itself was very loosely defined when it was first announced and it’s been loosely enforced since it’s been announced (laughs). I guess it was supposed to be four guys at first and now, really, 10 guys show up one night, three guys show up the next night, whatever. But like I said, I think the whole point is to give a more unpredictable feel to the show itself and its definitely achieved that.”

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been getting a good amount of television time, but that isn’t the case for other superstars. We hope WWE eventually figures out a way to fix the issues with the Wild Card Rule.
